Here’s how your Mercari find makes its way to Europe.
Add funds in euros
Choose Wise, Revolut, or the company PBZ bank account when configured. Use your unique transfer reference. Transfers are checked manually. Allow up to 24 hours after the funds reach our account for your JPY balance to update. Bank transfer time is additional.
Request the purchase
We reserve the approved JPY total and buy the item. The reservation is captured once the purchase succeeds, or released if the item cannot be purchased.
Manage your inventory
When your item arrives at our Japanese warehouse, it appears in your inventory. Select the items you want to consolidate and a saved delivery address.
Approve shipping, then it’s on its way
The warehouse team prepares a quote. Review shipping plus your loyalty level’s item-value service fee (10% for Level 1), pay from your balance, and follow the tracking reference after dispatch.

Japan Post EMS and packing + a service fee on the original JPY item value in your parcel. Postage and taxes are excluded from that fee calculation. The standard rate is 10%; loyalty rates are 9%, 8%, 7%, and 5% with business approval. Any unpaid account storage is collected here too.

Is my balance in euros or yen?
Your spendable balance is in JPY. Send EUR to your chosen receiving account. Staff verifies the arrival and credits JPY using the exchange rate when the funds arrived, rounded to the nearest whole yen. That JPY amount stays fixed; purchases use JPY without another currency conversion.
Does requesting an item guarantee the purchase?
No. Mercari listings can sell or change before purchase. Your funds are reserved while the request is processed. If the purchase cannot be completed, the reserved amount becomes available again.
Can I combine items into one parcel?
Yes. Select available items in your inventory and request a parcel. Items already assigned to another parcel cannot be selected again.
Which countries can I ship to?
We ship exclusively with Japan Post EMS. The address book covers European destinations; EMS availability and item eligibility must be confirmed when your shipping quote is prepared.
How long can I store my items?
Each item includes 30 days of free storage from warehouse receipt. After that, storage is ¥250 per customer per started 24-hour period, shared across all overdue items. It is collected at parcel checkout, in JPY. Paying stops storage for that parcel’s items; overdue items left behind continue accruing. The same daily period is never charged twice, even when you pay for multiple parcels. Combining items does not restart free storage.
